God's Work. Our Hands.

  • Easter basket project

Emmanuel participated in Project Easter basket with Samaritas Social Services Nonprofit in Michigan.  Members filled over 60 Easter baskets for children in foster care and struggling familes.

  • Holiday Gift Giving Tree

Emmanuel participates in Southfield Goodfellows Holiday Gift Giving Tree program. The Southfield Goodfellows is an all-volunteer, non-profit charitable organization serving low-income families in Southfield and Lathrup Village by providing assistance during the Holiday Season. This assistance takes the form of clothing and gifts for the children

We have partnered with Hope United Methodist to Walk, Run, and Ride for Child Hunger relief. Emmanuel Lutheran Church is the half way point for respite for participants. We provide water, snacks, restrooms, and shade.  We hope there will be another opportunity soon.

Emmanuel has a strong tradition of supporting the Crop Hunger Walk each year. We partner with Lawrence Technological University and other area congregations and community groups to provide an awareness-and-fundraising event benefiting Church World Service and their efforts to fight global food scarcity. Twenty-five percent of the proceeds from the walk are returned to local food organizations to help address hunger in the very community in which the walk is held.
