Emmanuel Community Farm

The Emmanuel Community Farm is a joint endeavor between the congregation and the Southfield Parks & Garden Club. Our small plot on the church grounds is carefully and thoughtfully planted at the beginning of each growing season and faithfully tended by an all-volunteer crew for the entirety of the season. When crops begin to come to fruition and are ready for harvest, all of the produce grown is donated to local food programs to help provide fresh food for those who are in need, which is a welcome supplement to what those organizations are able to provide in terms of non-perishable items.

Volunteering

Farm volunteer time is generally Wednesday afternoons from 3:00-6:00 pm and Saturday mornings from 9:00am -12:00 pm. Anyone is welcome to come and help out! Please come prepared for gardening--with work gloves, sunscreen, water to drink, and prepared to get dirty. Most of the work is light; we do have stools and knee pads.
